I support women of all ages and abilities. Using credible assessment techniques, I diagnose problems and help you understand your body and how best to help yourself to manage and eliminate pain and stiffness. I treat bone, joint, muscle and nerve problems. These include low back pain, knee, hip and ankle pain, gluteal tendinopathy (greater trochanteric pain syndrome, previously known as bursitis), ankle sprains, neck pain and stiffness, osteoarthritis, osteopenia and osteoporosis, post surgical rehabilitation, shoulder rotator cuff, frozen shoulder and joint pain, tennis and golfer’s elbow and heel/plantar fascia pain (previously known as plantar fasiciitis). I have an MSc in Sport and Exercise Physiotherapy, and am specialised in treating sports injuries, and have a particular interest in running, netball, hockey and racket sports.

My Masters dissertation and research looked into women’s needs and barriers with respect to movement, physical activity and exercise, so I’m uniquely placed to help women who want to move well are limited by pain and conditions.

I have also done postgraduate training in Pilates and incorporate this in my approach.

If you’re struggling to get the medical help you need or not sure where to turn, I can help you navigate the medical and health system to get the support, direction and resolution you need. This can ultimately save you distress, time and money.

The care I provide is holistic. I apply my understanding of anatomy and physiology to correctly diagnose and treat problems while looking beyond to understand the psychological, social and environmental factors that can influence your pain and stiffness, and enable movement. This helps you resolve pain and stiffness for the short and longer term, reach your goals and perform well.

Physio with me

Physiotherapy assessment

I will ask a series of questions to help accurately diagnose your problems, as well as undertake physical examination. This is done in a caring, confidential way which respects you and the information you share. It helps me understand you and your personal goals and needs.

Physiotherapy treatment

Once I have assessed you we can move forward with treatment. All initial sessions include both assessment and treatment. Treatment usually involves manual therapy, exercise therapy and prescription and advice. I have access to a fully equipped personal training studio which enables us to do high quality exercise rehabilitation and prescription with the aid of excellent equipment and comfortable mats. I will discuss with you how to incorporate movement and home exercises into your week.

Clear advice on your condition and what to do will be provided. Exercises and advice are given in person and then conveyed in a post treatment email as a reference. This enables you to move forward with clarity and confidence.

We will discuss an ongoing treatment plan as appropriate, and I am guided by your goals and needs.

If onward referral to a medical, health care professional or exercise professional is necessary, I can assist and provide guidance.
